Homeless Outreach

Hello Ladies,

I recently received information about one of the ladies bible study groups collecting items for the homeless in our area.

For those of you that attend Mary and Martha’s Place on Tuesdays, you’ve probably already received these details. I thought I would share the details with all of the Women of Heart volunteers in case you’d like to participate. Below please find the wish list and drop off details.

Thank you,

Nicole

Thank you for helping us care for the homeless people in St Petersburg.

So, Jesus told them this story: “If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them gets lost, what will he do? Won’t he leave the ninety-nine others in the wilderness and go to search for the one that is lost until he finds it?  And when he has found it, he will joyfully carry it home on his shoulders.  When he arrives, he will call together his friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep.’  In the same way, there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven’t strayed away! Luke 15:3-7

We will be collecting items each time Mary and Martha meets.  You can also drop off items in the Women of Heart cabinet or the church office. Some items are for the Homeless Shelter’s Pantry.  Smaller items will fill “Good Samaritan Bags” that each of us can share as the Spirit leads us.  For questions please call Melisa Diaz 479 283-7621 or Kim Affonso at 727 226-9620.

If you would like to volunteer to feed the homeless at St Vincent de Paul we have a group that meets on Friday night at 6:30pm at 401 15th St N in downtown St Pete.  For questions about volunteering with this ministry please call Tracy Buckley 727 420-6648.

Or, if you feel led to donate money for a Friday night dinner, you can do it through Calvary Chapel St Pete.  Please write “Homeless Ministry” on the tithe envelope or in the appropriate space for online donations.
